Our Bulletin 1788 Redundant EtherNet/IP™ to Profibus-PA Linking Device provides a fast and integrated solution for adding Profibus-PA field devices to any Logix platform. These linking devices provide a direct link between Profibus-PA and EtherNet/IP without requiring an intermediate Profibus-DP layer.

  • Self-contained, panel, or DIN-rail mountable device
  • Links an EtherNet/IP™ network to a single Profibus-PA segment
  • Operates as a true PA master without requiring a DP network, DP master, coupler device, or external power conditioner
  • Supports as many as 24 PA field devices
  • Supports multiple levels of device and media redundancy
    • Provides two physical Profibus-PA ports
    • Intelligent Fieldbus Junction Box protects the network from both short and open circuit faults, improving the overall reliability of the system
  • Supports EtherNet/IP Media redundancy
    • Hosts two Ethernet ports through Embedded Ethernet Switch technology
    • Allows the device to be connected in a linear or a Device Level Ring (DLR) topology
  • Supports Master Device redundancy
    • Allows two identically-configured Redundant EtherNet/IP to Profibus-PA linking devices to be connected on the same PA network
    • Supports transfer of data between the devices and the Logix controller
  • Provides seamless RSLogix 5000™ environment integration through Add-On Profiles, which automatically identifies field devices and configures them to their default settings
  • Supports FDT/DTM Technology, allowing direct access to field device diagnostics and parameters using an FDT frame, such as FactoryTalk® AssetCentre
  • Provides all basic diagnostic information in the input assembly
  • Helps simplify large network commissioning through diagnostic parameters such as Power Supply Voltage, PA Bus Voltage (A & B bus), PA Bus Current (A & B bus), and Unit Internal Temperature
  • Simplifies commissioning through onboard advanced diagnostics, including a node-specific PA bus oscilloscope trace that can be viewed within the RSLogix5000 Add-On Profile
