OptixEdge Advanced Edge Gateway features a preloaded wizard to set up connections from your control system to the cloud using MQTT, as well as the option to develop your own application to gather, process and visualize data at the edge. By adding this compact book mount device to your control system, users can set up a secure connectivity to almost any automation network with purpose-built protocol drivers.

Remote access lets you accomplish more, securely
- Secure VPN connection through Rockwell Automation’s cloud infrastructure gives you access to remote plant networks through the OptixEdge WAN port using FactoryTalk® Remote Access™
- Commission, program, troubleshoot or patch the OptixEdge itself or any connected device on the remote network
- Lock the OptixEdge WAN port using an embedded DC input positively disable connectivity from outside the plant and unlock it when you want to allow access
- Monitor activity on the WAN port by connecting a DC pilot device or tower light which illuminates when remote connectivity is established
