Gain Clarity Sooner

Studio 5000 Simulation Interface gives you the power to improve the design before the pressure of installation. By using simulation, you can connect your control program to your application model, connect values in your controller to variables in your simulation, and connect a simulation or model to your control program.

Studio 5000 Simulation Interface makes it easy to:

  • Import a simulation model and a controller program
  • Connect the model variables to the tags
  • Start simulating (or stop) with intuitive, built-in controls

Experiment as Much as You Like

Digital engineering can help you get to market at record speeds, either when designing and commissioning machines, or managing production in a plant. Test a wider range of designs by using Studio 5000 Simulation Interface, without worrying about wasting resources.

Use this software with a modeling and simulation tool to help your developers quickly connect to digital models before investing in a physical prototype. You can, for example create the controls to actuate a hydraulic press, developers or designers can create a digital twin that encapsulates the dynamics of the system  (inertias, vibration, frictions, accelerations). This connection makes it easy to test a controller’s code against the model of the physical press.

Studio 5000 Simulation Interface Tutorial

Learn how to connect your Logix program to third-party modeling software using Studio 5000® Simulation Interface.

Optimize Operations

Using a simulation alongside a live system creates opportunities to rethink applications and systems and potentially eliminate unnecessary steps, machinery, sensors, and more. Create more sustainable and data-driven operations by deploying your connected model at the edge.

Imagine the Possibilities

Want to change what’s possible for your business? Build, test and prove machine designs digitally instead of physically. With Studio 5000 design environment, you can add Studio 5000 Simulation Interface and connect third-party simulation software to a Studio 5000 Logix program or fine-tune a model that’s already in production.

Design by Using a Model

Do you wish you had a model of your application to test you logic with? Now you can with Studio 5000 Simulation Interface. Connect a Studio 5000 Logix program to a simulation of your application. Spot an issue? This is not a problem. You’ll see first hand how it works before installation. Directly from your PC, you can run a simulation and programmable logic controller program (through an emulator or hardware controller). Studio 5000 Simulation Interface works with simulation tools to provide more flexible design choices, earlier insight and experimentation options. Use with ANSYS simulation-based digital twin, integrate with MATLAB and Simulink or connect ROM exports from simulation tools like MapleSIM.

Employ a Model-in-the-loop Technique

Even in a production environment, a model can help. Is a specific value difficult to measure? Model it based on real production inputs and Studio 5000 Simulation Interface anticipates changes before production. Enable predictive maintenance or optimization by comparing the model to the actual production. Use Studio 5000 Simulation Interface to run a reduced model at the edge allowing simulation and logic to run on the plant floor next to the real production system. Now you have both operational and simulation data to compare and spot trends, weak spots and opportunities for optimization.

Take the Next Step Towards Digital Engineering

Studio 5000 Simulation Interface is an add-on to the Studio 5000 design environment. With it, you can connect controllers to simulation and modeling tools to enable virtual commissioning and model-based design.
